Rotary Headlight  - Summit / New Providence Rotary Club
Edition: February 2

As we pre‑write this edition of the Headlight, we don’t yet know what our friendly groundhog — a stout, furry rodent with a very recognizable look — will predict. But we can predict a very fun Rotary meeting for…

Monday, February 2 – Double Header Program … and MORE

Monday’s meeting will be jam‑packed. We urge everyone to please try to be at Christ Church by 12:10, so we can begin promptly at 12:15.

Here’s what’s on the agenda…

Paul Harris Fellow Recognitions
Our EREY (Every Rotarian Every Year) participation effort has resulted in several new Paul Harris Fellows being recognized by the Foundation Trustees. President David will present certificates and pins to our newest honorees. Congratulations to all!

UP NEXT:  A Quick Antarctic Update

President Dave will share a brief program on his recent trip to Antarctica — a unique adventure we’re all eager to hear about.

AND THEN OUR Featured Speaker: Michele Logan, Marantha Regenerative Farm

Our main speaker will be Michele Logan, founder of Marantha Regenerative Farm.  Michele’s journey began while searching for answers to an autoimmune issue. Her research revealed that large‑scale “healthy” food production often isn’t what consumers believe it to be. Organic labels don’t always tell the full story, and — as the saying goes — we are what we eat ate. The health of the soil directly shapes the health of the food grown in it.

In 2015, Michele and her family moved to the Somerset Hills, where she felt called to combine her love of food with restoring land that had long been left fallow. She will share her story, her mission, and her insights with us.

A note from the District Mental Health Chapter …..

The NJ Cross-Town Coalition on Mental Health is meeting to plan for this year's activities, it is a great opportunity to get Rotary involved and further engage with your community. The NJ Cross-Town Coalition is comprised of ten towns in 2 counties (Long Hill, Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Summit, Chatham, Madison, Fanwood, Scotch Plains, Westfield, & Mountainside).

There are several ways to assist and Ray Freaney is proposing a meeting for those interested. Several Rotarians in a few of the involved communities participated last year. Check out the following Facebook page, for details and activities.
