TONIGHT in the evening the Summit New Providence Rotary holiday party will be held on from 6-8 pm at the Summit Elks Lodge (40 Maple Street). We understand catering is from Fiorino's. The cost is a steal at $25/person. Thanks to Donna Patel for chairing the event!

As we close out another year, we are once again reaching out to ask for your support for the SNP Rotary’s ongoing efforts in the community. Your contributions help to continue our scholarships, educational programs, and a variety of initiatives that serve the residents of Summit and New Providence.
This year, we proudly celebrated the distribution of our 99th consecutive series of scholarships, awarding five to scholars from Summit and New Providence High Schools. We also distributed 515 U.S. Constitutions to middle schoolers and 505 dictionaries to every third grader in both districts, initiatives that continue to have a lasting impact on our schools and their students.
Additionally, we hosted our inaugural "Pedals for Progress" event, collecting 25 bicycles and 10 sewing machines that were shipped to developing areas where they will provide new opportunities for individuals. We also hosted local political candidates giving them the opportunity to voice their platforms, and we enjoyed many luncheons featuring engaging and thought-provoking speakers as well as our usual good fellowship.
Despite these successes, our membership has declined, and we now have 38 members—33 active and 5 honorary. To address this, we held a club assembly in November to explore strategies for revitalizing our organization. Topics discussed included how to reverse the decline in membership, continuing our current service projects with an emphasis on the efficacy of our scholarship program, identifying new initiatives, altering meeting frequency and or location, rethinking dues, and exploring advertising and partnerships with other local organizations. This process is ongoing, and we encourage each of our members to share their thoughts and ideas for moving forward.
If you would like to make a year-end contribution to support our ongoing programs, please do so through our Community Foundation of NJ fund. All contributions are 100% tax deductible.
We are continuing to strive to keep the Club vital. If we can duplicate our recent year-end appeals coupled with some healthy Happy/Sad dollars and our 50/50s, we should be able to maintain our various programs.
