🌀 Rotary Headlight – September 29 Edition
Summit-New Providence Rotary Club
🍂 Welcome to Fall!
Reminder: NO MEETING this Monday
👥 Member Spotlight: Eugene Kim & Steve LaFerriere
At our last meeting, we had the pleasure of hearing from two of our newest Rotarians:
Eugene Kim
Eugene’s journey began in Bergen County, where he grew up after his parents immigrated from Korea in the 1970s. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a master’s in chemistry from Stevens Institute of Technology, originally intending to pursue patent law. After clerking for Chief Justice Stuart Radner and joining a Newark firm, Eugene experienced a “one-third life crisis” and pivoted to solo practice for a decade. A devoted Mets fan, Eugene joined Melisa Spurr’s law firm in Summit earlier this year and is excited to contribute to Rotary service projects.
Steve LaFerriere
Steve is a certified financial planner with Merrill Lynch in Summit. Raised in a military family, he lived in many places before settling in New Jersey and graduating from Madison High School. A devout Christian, Steve embodies Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self. He’s volunteered extensively—both locally and abroad—and is fluent in Spanish. Steve has graciously agreed to chair our speakers’ program, and we look forward to his leadership and energy.
🗳️ October Is Candidate Month
