Rotary Headlight
Summit / New Providence Rotary Club
Edition: January 26
Happy Monday!

There is no Rotary meeting on January 26. With schools closed and many events cancelled due to the storm, it’s a quiet week all around. Hopefully you’ve been able to dig out from the snow and had your street and driveway cleared early. If you don’t need to go out, enjoy the comfort of home.

Looking Ahead: Monday, February 2 – Double Header Program
We’ll be back in action next Monday with a full program.

A Quick Antarctic Update
If time permits, President Dave will share a brief five‑minute program on his recent trip to Antarctica—a unique adventure we’re eager to hear about.

Featured Speaker: Michele Logan, Marantha Regenerative Farm
Our main speaker will be Michele Logan, founder of Marantha Regenerative Farm.

Michele’s journey began while searching for answers to an autoimmune issue. Her research revealed that large‑scale “healthy” food production often isn’t what consumers believe it to be. Organic labels don’t always tell the full story, and—as the saying goes—we are what we eat ate. The health of the soil directly shapes the health of the food grown in it.

In 2015, Michele and her family moved to the Somerset Hills, where she felt called to combine her love of food with restoring land that had long been left fallow. She will share her story, her mission, and her insights with us.

Foundation News

Our EREY (Every Rotarian Every Year) participation effort has resulted in several new Paul Harris Fellows being recognized by the Foundation Trustees. President David will present certificates and pins to our newest honorees. Congratulations to all.

Blood Bank Results

Thank you to everyone who supported our first blood drive of the year. The official results:
  • 48 Presented
  • 8 Deferred
  • 6 Power Red Donors (Fantastic!)
  • 41 Units Collected
Our next drive will take place on June 4 at Central Presbyterian Church. More details to come.

Personal Note from Joe Steiner
