Our Speaker on Monday: Claudia Lijo, NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome
Claudia Lijo serves as an Education Outreach Specialist for the NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome & Associated Disorders (NJCTS).
She describes her work this way: “When I am asked where do I work and what do I do, I often explain that I work for a little but mighty non-profit organization called NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome located in Somerville, NJ — but it never feels like ‘work.’ To me, it’s not a job, it’s just personal.”
Founded in 2004 with support from the State of New Jersey, NJCTS was established as a Center of Excellence to provide statewide programs and services for families, public outreach and awareness, and education for schools and healthcare professionals.
Strategic Plan Committee Survey
The Strategic Plan Committee invites all members to share their thoughts in a brief survey about your experience in our Rotary Club. Your feedback will help shape our club’s Strategic Plan. There are no right or wrong answers — just honest input.
Responses are anonymous, and we will review the aggregated results together at a meeting this spring.
Raffle Time
Distribution of annual raffle tickets begins this week. If you cannot attend one of the next two meetings, your tickets will be mailed to you.
This fundraiser is essential to our scholarship program — each $20 ticket generates over $9.75 for the fund. Full details will accompany your ticket packet.
District Events
Connect for Good Summit
Long-time Rotarians may remember the former three‑day district conferences at a resort — those days are behind us. For the second year, the District will host the Connect for Good Summit:
Saturday, May 16
9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
The Imperia, Somerset (a short ride out Route 78)
As in past years, the Summit / New Providence Club will cover the cost for any Rotarian who notifies us before the Early Bird deadline. Reply to this email if you would like to attend, and we will handle registration and payment.
More details next week.
