ποΈ This Mondayβs Speaker: Dr. Mitch Erickson
Weβre honored to welcome Dr. Mitch Erickson, a retired environmental chemist whose distinguished career has spanned both scientific research and public service. Mitch earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Iowa in 1976 and spent much of his career addressing hazardous contaminants, especially PCBs.
He later served as an executive scientist at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where he led environmental measurement initiatives and coordinated interagency science efforts.
In retirement, Mitch continues to consult on environmental chemistry and emerging technologies. Heβs also a dedicated volunteer with Scouting America and the
Summit Area Old Guard, where he contributes to programming and community engagement.
On Monday, Mitch will share insights from his professional journey, including his current work with the Summit Old Guard, highlighting how science, service, and community intersect in meaningful ways.
