Rotary Headlight – March 23 Edition

A quick reminder as we start the week:
There is no Rotary meeting on Monday, March 23.
We meet next on March 30.

Last Week’s Speaker: Scott Ryan
Our March 16 program featured Scott Ryan, Summit resident since 2010 and CEO of Investature, a financial‑education start‑up focused on integrating environmental sustainability into personal finance.
After three decades in corporate finance, Scott shifted his career toward helping institutions and individuals understand how their investment choices can meaningfully reduce carbon impact. His team uses a range of technology and financial platforms to identify environmental funds and guide clients toward climate‑safe and sustainability‑aligned investment strategies.
Key Insights
  • Clients include pension funds, endowments, and individual investors.
  • A UN study shows that individuals earning over $75,000 can significantly influence environmental outcomes through investment allocation.
  • Bond investments have far greater environmental impact than equity investments because bonds directly fund capital projects.
    • Think: financing a solar or wind farm vs. funding a gas or coal‑fired generator.
