What do Rotarians do when a speaker has an unavoidable situation and has to cancel?
We look within to find a last-minute program. That’s what happened on August 10th and we didn’t have to look far, as we had a new member …. Annette Dwyer - ready and willing to step in. Our newbie isn’t new to Summit, and she explained how she and her husband Terry came to town and the work they put in on their new home as well as their personal philosophies of giving back to the communities where they live. A number of questions brought out details of Shaping Summit Together (Summit 2005), the MLK Day of Service and her latest Tree Well project. The final question brought us a whole second program! -- MONDO, the eclectic project on Springfield Avenue right next to the Promenade Park wasn’t always the fun place it is today, and Annette went over all the details from its humble beginnings to the performance venue to the beginnings of Marigolds and all that led to today’s stable mid-block anchor.

Our New SIGN IS HERE: Many of you have told us that it is time to change the sign at the New Providence border on Springfield Avenue that promotes the Rotary at the Grand Summit. President Brad showed the club the new sign that will go up there, that simply puts our website on the sign for folks to learn about us.
Finally, two new Paul Harris Fellows were presented. Mike Katz received his second PHF, and in honor of Peter Bolton’s 90th Birthday, the club awarded him his first PFH. Congratulations to all.
